Golf: Golfers play in Morocco for AAGE Hempel Marine Electronics Trophy
The May bank holiday weekend saw Med Golf enjoy a few days away in Morocco, which also included their latest tournament at Cabo Negro Golf Club, sponsored by Aage Hempel Marine Electronics.
It was certainly a good weekend for Tom Parry when he not only won the main competition and the team prize with his brother Steve, but also his coveted invitation to compete in the Med Golf Masters at Valderrama in November. He now joins previous winners Louis Calvente, Denny To, Nicky Sanchez, Russ Crawford, Frank Samways, Andy Griffin and Neil Emmerson. In second place was John Hunter, with his son Josh in third place. John had a superb round of 75 that also won him the best gross score trophy. Top lady was Sheila Morris with Frank Samways being the top senior and Mike Walsh the “star quality” player.
Amongst the other prize- winners, Gary Edwards had the longest drive and the nearest the pin winners were Garth Morris, John Hunter, Tom Parry, John Dale and Ivan Galliano.
Another Valderrama invitation is on offer at the next competition, which is for the Gala Casino Trophy on the championship course at Montecastillio over the bank holiday weekend commencing 16th June, where again Med Golf have organised a few days break in the luxurious 5-star hotel. Golfers and non-golfers are welcome. To get further details and book your tee times, you should ring Johnathan Goodson on 0034-639741886. He will also be able to give you the full tournament schedule and all the substantial green fee discounts that are now available to Med Golf members.
