Gibraltar based company to sponsor Tottenham Hotspur
A Gibraltarian based online gaming company has signed a multi-million pound sponsorship deal with leading English Premiership side Tottenham Hotspur (Jared Cooksey reports).
Mansion was established on the Rock in 2004 and had been on the verge of signing a “world record” sponsorship deal with Manchester United earlier this year. The company has now agreed a four year deal worth £34 million with the North London club.
In a deal which is rumoured to be in the world’s top ten, Mansion will replace Tottenham’s outgoing sponsors Thomson this summer.
The Mansion logo will appear on Tottenham kits and across the stadium from July 1 in preparation for the 2006 – 2007 season when Tottenham will be competing in the UEFA Cup for the first time since 1999.The club just missed out on the opportunity to advance to the qualification stages of the Champions League on the last day of the season with defeat against West Ham United after a number of their players were struck with food poisoning.
Daniel Levy, Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur spoke highly of the agreement: “Mansion represented the best partnership opportunity for Spurs, in commercial terms and, just as importantly, in respect of the excellent synergy between the two organisations.”
David Kinsman, Chief Operating Officer of Mansion also praised the deal: “This is a unique opportunity – a true partnership between us and Tottenham, aimed at growing both the Mansion brand and the reputation of the club. The English Premier League is the most significant league in the World and it is clear to us the benefits of having the Mansion name associated with a young and exciting team such as Tottenham.”
