Golf: Steve Parry wins Ibex Insurance Trophy

On Sunday the 14th January, on a very calm but overcast day at Estepona Golf Club, 52 players enrolled to compete for the Ibex Insurance Trophy.

A great day was had by all and with a combination of no wind and a well prepared golf course, good scores were recorded on the day.

After 5 years trying, Steve Parry eventually won the event with a Stableford score of 41 points, collecting the Ibex Insurance Trophy and an invitation to play in this years Med Golf Masters at Valderrama in November, also along with his playing partner Paul Singleton, won the top team award with a combined Stableford score of 73 points.

Beaten into second place by the narrowest of margins was Geoff Watchhorn with 39 points who also won the top senior prize and third place was taken by Vinny Samways with 37 points.
Once again and maintaining a good run of form, our top lady was Julie Brewer who also produced an amazing 0ne under Par for the best gross score on the Par 3’s.

The best overall gross score went to Dan Aldridge who completed his round in 72 strokes with a handicap of scratch.
Other prize winner were,
