Basketball: Gibraltar's GABBA face bottom club Chajeba this weekend

Another victory in the Andalucian League, Cadiz Region, puts Fosters GABBA firmly on top of the opposition. They won their last game of 2006 by beating CD Bosco 88, by a thumping 70-41.


Their next encounter is away to Chajeba 04 on the 14th of January

John Goncalves Awarded a Queen's Honour

Gibraltar Amateur Basketball Association (GABBA) President John Gonçalves has been involved with basketball since 1964 when he first played for the Grammar School.

In 1965 he became a GABA Executive and in 1984 he became its President. He is also a member of the basketball’s European governing body FIBA Europe Board and Small Countries Commission President. Since 1991 he has represented the GABBA at official games all over the world.

Mr Gonçalves was Vice-President for Europe for the Commonwealth Basketball Federation for four years, and from 1996-2000 he served in the FIBA Council for Young People.
