Football: Gibraltar manage to brush aside the Tibetans by a convincing 5-0 margin
Last night saw the long awaited enounter between the Gibraltar national selection (GFA) against Tibet. The Tibetans had previously lost to St Pauli by 7-0. This meant that in order for Gibraltar to top the group, they would need to put 8 goals past the Tibetan side. This however, was not the case and the Tibetans managed to put up a stronger defence against the Gibraltarians than they had previously achieved against the German side.
Final score: 5-0 to Gibraltar.
This now means that Gibraltar will be playing live on TV tonight, undoubtadly the first time that Gibraltar has received such high profile, TV coverage.
The game will be extremely difficult for the Gibraltarians to win as the team from Northern Cyprus have now beaten the pre-tournament favourites, Greenland and Zanzibar, from East Africa.
We are, however, confident that Gibraltar's unbeaten record, in the tournament, will push the Gibraltarian team to new heights, in their game. A victory for Gibraltar will put them in the final, of what has become a much publicised tournament, with some very respectable and challenging opposition.
In the other semi-final, Zanzibar will play St Pauli. Zanzibar last night managed to beat Greenland by 4-2.
I am sure you will all join SportGibraltar.com in wishing Gibraltar the best of luck.
Don't forget to watch the match on the German channel DSF, LIVE at 19:45
