Darts: Gibraltar National Darts Championship
The Gibraltar National Championship was played last week. Attendance was quite good in light of the world cup having started.
In an amazing draw, the top 4 players in Gibraltar got drawn together in the 1st round of the competition.
This time round it was the old guns that went through (George Federico beat Justin Broton 3-0 and Francis Taylor beat Dylan Duo in a close 3-2 match.
The highlight of the night was young Danny Peach who managed to take out Francis Taylor (always the toughest of opponents as Dylan found out). Danny was overjoyed by his win but lost against another veteran of darts, Angel Debono. George then beat Manolo Asquez to reach the final.

In the final George played as he did all night with good clinical finishing but Angel Debono gave him a run for his money.
George Federico is now the 8th time winner (and record holder) of this long standing trophy and will get 1st choice in deciding whether he will attend the Winmau World Masters being held in, Bridlington, England in November this year.Click here: to visit the Gibraltar Darts Association's website
