Basketball: Senior women lose their first game

Fosters GABBA, women's team succumb to A.B. Ituci by 55- 58.

The trip to Chiclana to face the joint league leaders was never going to be easy.

The game ended with a very narrow defeat to Foster’s GABBA – the first this season. A low scoring first quarter ended in 9-9. Ituci came out strong in the second quarter and went ahead by 19-9, within the first 4 minutes. GABBA managed to turn the score round a little before ending the second quarter on 20-29.

The third quarter was very even 14-14. This meant that Ituci went into the final quarter with 43-34. Fosters fought back strongly in the final quarter to come within three points of the home team 53-56.

We must congratulate the ladies for a resilient come back and wish them the best of luck in their forthcoming matches.

The junior events continue to do well in all the disciplines including, Cadets, Cadettes, and Passerelle Boys and Passerelle Girls.With all the teams, apart from the Cadet team securing a win, against Spanish opposition.
