Netball Tour by 10 Army Girls

10 members of the Army Physical Training Corps Netball team will be visiting Gibraltar from 3 to 8 November 2008. Whilst they are here they will play fixtures against Bullock, Baker Tilly, Elite Travel and the British Forces Gibraltar team.

The Corps aims to use the visit to foster team spirit, promote team cohesion. It will also be a useful preparation for their participation in the Army's Inter-Corps Netball Championships which take place in Aldershot on 14 November.

1. Round robin competition

2. Matches will consist of 2 x 10 minute halves
3. 2 Minutes at half time and 5 minutes change over.

5. The GNA will also provide umpires and scorers.

Netball: Referees course offered again, and latest results from Gibraltar leagues

The Gibraltar Netball association would like to point out that: Unfortunately, the umpires session scheduled for December had to be cancelled due to a number of no shows.

Gary Holden met with the committee this week and has asked Ivana Schembri to contact all teams and existing umpires with a view to obtaining feedback on the following:


1. Names of members interested in qualifying as an umpire to be put forward specifying their aims to: either qualify/ or remain as 'C' Award Umpires or qualify as 'B' Award Umpires
2. Those interested must be able to commit their time on a regular basis without it interfering with their training or match schedules
3. Workshops can be arranged for Wednesdays from 5.30pm to 7.30pm during the Junior League matches or Fridays from 7.00pm to 8.30pm every other week starting on 9th February
depending on the general feedback

Please discuss with your team members and get back to Ivana as soon as possible with your views in order for Gary to organise a programme.
