Tenpin Bowling: Gibraltar's Association, held a highly successful Corporate Challenge Tournament

Thursday night saw the Plate Finals of the Gibraltar Tenpin Bowling Association 2006 Corporate Challenge. This ever popular Fund raising Tournament has been generously sponsored by no less than 14 Corporate entities, namely:

ABN AMRO BANK N.V., AON INSURANCE MANAGERS, BAKER TILLY CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS, BAW INTERNATIONAL LTD., DELOITTE & TOUCHE, EUROPEAN FINANCIAL PLANNING GROUP LTD. EUROPORT (INTERNATIONAL) HOLDINGS LTD., ISOLA & ISOLA, LADBROKES INTERNATIONAL, LEWIS STAGNETTO LTD., NATWEST BANK, MINISTRY OF DEFENCE, QUEST FINANCIAL SERVICES LTD. & THE ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND.

The GTBA also fielded a Youth Team who will shortly be participating in the World Youth championships to be held in Germany later this Month.
All teams participated in preliminary rounds starting on 15th May with EFPG and Isola & Isola making the cut into the Cup Final. Next match was held on 22nd May with Natwest & Quest going through. The third prelim. on the 25th May saw Lewis Stagnetto & BetandWin go through and the last qualifier on 30th May gave the MoD & Royal Bank of Scotland their place in the Cup Final on Saturday 5th July.
The remaining Teams all went on to a ply off for the Plate Finals, this took place on Thursday 1st July up at the NAAFI Ultrabowl at Europa. The Plate Winners were ABN Amro Bank with Deloitte & Touche as runners up.

Saturday was Cup Final Night, with 8 Qualifying Teams participating and from the outset, the Mod Squad took a commanding lead and held it to win their Group, with Betandwin taking the other Group first place. The Final match placed Betandwin as overall Winners of the 2006 Corporate Challenge, with MoD Squad as Runners-up.

The GTBA would like to thank all the Teams for their generous participation, Ron Niccolls and the NAAFI Ultrabowl Staff and Ian Wood for encouraging all the Companies to take part and for co-ordinating the event.
